The Living with Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease education series and program offers outpatient care management, screening, and education to patients and their caregivers for the communities served by Margaretville Hospital within the Westchester Medical Center Health Network. Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease (CLRD) includes Asthma, Chronic Bronchitis, COPD, Emphysema, Pulmonary Hypertension, Work-Related Lung Injury; COPD, in particular, is the third leading cause of death worldwide. Addressing the need for treatment of patients with Chronic Lower Respiratory Disease in the context of social determinants of health is key to providing quality rural healthcare.
